This is our two-day, intense, face-to-face training on hosting conversations and collaborative working with impact, designing and delivering in asset based and inclusive ways that make a difference, and creating positive change, whatever your role.
We’re living and working in complex and challenging times, where polarised opinions and persistent inequality can make it difficult to be hopeful about the future. But what if the counterpoint to despair was conversation and connection? And what if we all had the potential to transform how we work and live together, starting with ourselves, and building a kinder, more sustainable, more impactful culture for our teams, our organisations, and our world.
Throughout the two days you will build the skills and confidence to host conversations in ways that have influence and impact, and that lead to real change in the world.
This training is for you if:
- You’re interested in bringing groups of people together in different ways to facilitate service-change, pathway redesign, reorganisation or other complex change.
- You’re tired of ‘talking shops’ and events and meetings where nothing changes, and want to have different conversations that make a real difference.
- You’re purpose-driven, and want the tools to make positive change happen at any level, from organisational culture to project management to team dynamics.
- You’re a facilitator, team leader or service manager wanting to enhance your practice, build connection, and have more impact.
You will:
- Learn how to design and deliver purposeful ways of working, bringing people together to creatively explore challenges, delivering tangible outcomes.
- Learn how to design for maximum participation so that everyone can participate fully and meaningfully.
- Develop your personal toolkit of practical hosting tools and techniques.
- See how to effectively and inclusively ‘make things visible’ by recording, sense making and building shared understanding of conversations in ways which support concrete actions.
- Discover new ways of thinking about your role as facilitator / convenor / meeting chair, and how understanding our own needs and preferences helps us to step into hosting conversations that fish beneath the water line, understand where resistance lies and your role in enabling more meaningful and positive impact.
- Explore your own individual influence and agency, stepping in to your power and confidence as a change-maker, regardless of your role or position.
- Build confidence in working with groups, including working with conflict, supporting inclusivity and engagement and building your confidence to flex and respond well when things don’t go as you planned.
- Connect with the rich theory around working in complexity, organisational change, and relational practices – whilst staying rooted in practical action and approaches.
- Find or further develop your own, unique style and preferences, and begin to practice in a safe, supportive space.
- Receive a resource pack with further information about approaches, tools and techniques, as well as suggested reading and signposts to further development.
