Introducing…..the Flow Game!

This blog was originally shared by All About People partner Sarah Marsay over on Linked In. The Flow Game is one of our favourite tools so we thought we’d add the blog here as well.

Amazing to think that I embarked on my journey as a freelancer over a year ago!

Since then, I’ve been more intentional in how I’ve spent my time and energy, and also tried hard to listen more closely to my intuition. For me, this is about doing more of the things that make me feel good – hill walking, reading, travelling, learning, doing interesting and useful work – and about making choices to prioritise activities and connections that I somehow feel ‘pulled towards’.

This led me to the Flow Game and to training to become a Flow Game Host over the last few months.

The Flow Game is a framework or a ‘container’ for exploring questions in a different way, for gaining new insights and for approaching things differently. Every player comes to the Flow Game with a question that really means something to them, and it’s possible to play as individuals, as a team or as a family. With the Flow Game, players invite the wisdom of the universe, and of the other players, and the game play introduces new ways of exploring questions, new dimensions and surprising reflections.

My experience of playing the game has been that it can really ‘open things up’ and help to shift perspectives. There is often surprise, sometimes shock, lots of emotion – including joyful laughter and painful tears – and a real sense of possibility.

I was lucky enough to receive my training from two fabulous Flow Game Stewards, Amanda Zamparo Franco and Sophie Charrois, and to learn alongside a wonderful group of women – Ruth Beattie, Rosie Ayub, Ellen Nugroho (who I hosted my very first game with), Carolina Brunelli, Sara Huang, Daniela Rojatz, Kristiana Stoyanova. Plus I’ve joined the wonderful world-wide community of Flow Game hosts, including connecting up with inspiring women from different countries doing amazing work – looking at you Jenna Bucher and Charlotte Griestop.
